Welcome to the 22nd International IUGTE Conference, "Performing Arts Between Tradition and Contemporaneity," which will be held from December 18th to December 22nd, 2025, at Laubegg Castle in Austria. We hope that IUGTE 2025 will bring together diverse research backgrounds and case studies from around the world, offering numerous networking and development opportunities. Our goal is to foster new creative collaboration networks in the field of performing arts. Where will the Conference Take Place?

The IUGTE Conference will take place at Laubegg Castle in Austria, set amidst a serene landscape of forests, cornfields, and deer. The environment allows participants to immerse themselves in nature and draw inspiration from its sounds and sights. This unique setting enhances the creative experience, fostering a deep connection between physical theatre practices and the surrounding wilderness.

Schedule

18.12.2025: 19:00 - IUGTE Conference opening and first meeting.

19-20-21.12.2025: Conference program: practical workshops, presentations, works-in-progress, lectures and discussions. The conference program will run a full day with breaks between presentations and breaks for meals. The registered participants will receive a detailed daily schedule.

22.12.2025: 7:30-9:00 - Breakfast; 9:00 - Check-out and departure.

Who Should Attend?

The conference is designed for theater actors and directors, circus performers and directors, dancers and choreographers, physical theater practitioners, musicians, educators, representatives of performing arts departments from universities, as well as arts managers and conference organizers. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.

The conference provides an excellent platform for performers to gain diverse methods and techniques, share creative work with an international audience from various countries, and find new collaboration partners.
